The UK Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has confirmed that it is investigating Bombardier over suspected bribery and corruption in relation to contracts and/or orders from Garuda Indonesia. As a live investigation, the SFO has provided no further comments but the probe concerns the sale of CRJ1000 aircraft to Garuda arranged with the airline’s previous CEO, Emirsyah Satar, who was fined and sentenced for up to eight years in prison for corruption and money laundering after receiving bribes through businessman Soetikno Soedarjo, who was also fined and imprisoned for six years.
