Norwegian has filed a legal challenge to a roughly US $40 million charge sought by the government in Oslo, which alleges the flag carrier infringed the country’s Climate Quota Act. In a court submission filed on January 9, the carrier said “we disagree [with the Norwegian environment ministry] and are very disappointed that we are being imposed a sky-high fee by the Norwegian state while in reality, we followed Norwegian law”, according to local media reports. The Scandinavian carrier is scheduled to present results for the fourth quarter of 2022 on February 16.
