Recruitment agencies in Manila have opposed the Manila International Airport Authority’s plan to include the payment of terminal fees in airline tickets. The plan to integrate the payment into ticket prices was designed to combat long queues in the departure halls, where previously the payment would be made at service desks. Agency owner, Jackson Gan, said the plan would only add confusion for thousands of overseas migrant Filipino workers passing through the airport. Migrant labour amounts to almost half of the passengers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. The new policy will be implemented on October 1st.
