The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has placed India in the 48th position from the 102nd position in its latest safety audit giving a clear mandate that India has come a long way in improving the air safety processes. India’s score in terms of effective implementation of key safety elements has improved to 85.49%, putting it ahead of China which is in 49th position, Israel at 50, and Turkey at 54th – global position on the ICAO ranking.
