The UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) is investigating an incident involving an inflight engine fire onboard a Flybe Bombardier Q400 aircraft on Tuesday. Flight BE130 was en route from Glasgow to Belfast City Airport when it suffered “a small engine fire” and was diverted to Belfast International Airport, where it was met by emergency services. The fire was extinguished before landing and the airline confirmed that passenger safety was not compromised at any time. There were no injuries among the 76 passengers, two pilots and two cabin crew on board.
