The Competition Commission of Singapore (CCS) has approved a proposed joint venture between Airbus Services Asia Pacific and Singapore Airlines to create an Airbus Asia Training Centre (AATC), which will provide pilot training services for Airbus aircraft in the Asia-Pacific region. CCS concluded that the joint venture “will not substantially lessen competition” in the relevant markets for the provision of Airbus aircraft pilot training services and Full Flight Simulators (FFS) software and data packages for Airbus aircraft. By creating an additional player in the regional market, CCS said that the joint venture would instead, likely increase the level of competition
