Regional Express (Rex) has been given the cleared of any wrongdoing by Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) which rejected the allegations of a disgruntled engineer and his union about the carrier’s safety record. The CASA received a report which alleged that Rex was lax in its safety regulations and pressured its maintenance crew not to report defects. In response to the decision, Rex welcomed the result, which it said “unequivocally rejects the scurrilous allegations”.
