The International Association of Machinists has been selected in a second election to represent workers at the newly merged United Continental Holdings. The union was selected over rival International Brotherhood of Teamsters, which received 5,257 votes, while the Machinists received 5,568 votes.
The combined group will now begin bargaining with United Continental for a single labor agreement, and the union will attempt to reach accord on a single seniority list for the two groups.
