On October 4, 2016 KfW IPEX-Bank and Commerzbank successfully closed a financing of a new 787-9 for United Airlines. The aircraft with MSN 60143 was delivered on 24 June 2016.
The financing was structured as a direct loan with KfW IPEX-Bank acting as arranger and facility agent together with Commerzbank as co-lead-arranger.
