SpiceJet has received regulatory approval to directly import jet fuel and hopes to start doing so “in due course".
Chief executive Neil Mills said. "Importing fuel at comparatively lower price would help us to considerably bring down our operational cost."
The airline's stock rose on the news, closing almost 6% higher at 34.95 rupees.
