Now under “care and maintenance” agreement with its administrators, South African Airways (SAA) has now completely halted operations. Reuters reported that a notice from administrators said: “The BRPs (administrators) have made a decision to suspend all the airline operations with immediate effect,” the notice states.
SAA will remain grounded until it acquires new funds for its continued restructuring. It had been understood that the government had approved new funds for the airline’s revival but the notice now seems to suggest those funds are in doubt.
