South African Airways (SAA) acting chief executive Nico Bezuidenhout has been quoted as saying that SAA would join Etihad Airways’ airline group, Etihad Airways Partners, if there is “no major conflict” with its existing partners.
Bezuidenhout also indicated that SAA was “cooperating on reviewing aspects of joint procurement” and “leveraging procurement” with Etihad.
South African Airways and Etihad already codeshare on each other’s flights – some 15 Abu Dhabi-India routes with Etihad and Jet Airways.
