Technical issues concerning fire protection installations at the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) have caused the opening of the airport to be delayed further until the end of October 2013.
BER was originally scheduled to open in June, a date that was postponed to August, and then to March 2013. Such long delays have increased costs to €1.2 billion.
