The Australian Licenced Aircraft Engineers Association (ALAEA) called off strikes planned for yesterday, again in response to threats by Qantas management to withhold up to seven hours pay for time not worked.
Qantas said it had only notified employees of the legal obligation which prevented them being paid if they engaged in protected or unprotected industrial action.
The union had planned four-hour work stoppages at Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane airports.
