Air India Express, subsidiary of national carrier Air India, is considering launching low cost operations on domestic routes.
Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel said that the commercial viability of the sectors to be operated are being ascertained.
Air India Express currently operates as low-cost carrier of the Air India on international routes, mainly on services to the Gulf countries.
