Vertical Aerospace appoints new head of finance

UK-based Vertical Aerospace has named chartered accountant John Martin as chief financial officer (CFO). Martin, a non-executive director of Ocado, previously worked as CFO for “several prominent businesses”, Vertical said, listing Ferguson plc and Travelex, and earlier in his career was with the now-defunct Arthur Andersen. Vertical is a “global aerospace and technology company that is pioneering zero-emissions aviation”, including eVTOL [electric vertical take-0ff and landing] aircraft. “I am delighted to welcome John to Vertical Aerospace. His experience leading public companies will be critical as we scale Vertical both to certification and industrialisation,” said founder and chief executive Stephen Fitzpatrick.
