Delta Air Lines chief operating officer Gil West is after 12 years at the US carrier. He will stay at the company to the end of September, “as we evaluate how to best transition his responsibilities in the current environment,” chief executive Ed Bastian, said in a company memo on Monday. Delta has been looking at various to reduce its workforce and expenses in response to COVID 19, including through buyouts and early retirements. The COO joined Delta in 2008 from bus company Laidlaw Transit Services, where he was chief executive.
