Collins Aerospace Systems is set to introduce a new four year aviation maintenance technician apprenticeship program. The program, which will take place at the company’s aerostructures facility in Alabama, will include two years of college and two years of on the job training, in cooperation with Coastal Alabama Community College. Upon completion of the program, apprentices will receive an associate degree from the college and an FAA airframe license. The company says this new apprenticeship program complements the facility’s aviation work/study and internship programs and provides full-time employment.
