The man in charge of Boeing’s 737 programme for 34 years, Eric Lindblad, is set to retire. The vice president of Boeing’s New Mid-Market (NMA) programme, Mark Jenks is set to replace him. The retirement of Lindblad is said to be unrelated to the ongoing crisis at Boeing following two fatal crashes involving the 737 Max aircraft. Boeing was quick to stress that Lindblad originally planned to retire in 2018, but agreed to postpone his retirement to oversee the 737 program, which struggled to meet targets for production and delivery.
