Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, CEO of Airberlin will resign from February 1, 2015, and former Lufthansa executive and Fiji Airways CEO Stefan Pichler will take over. At his request, Prock-Schauer will resume his position as chief strategy and planning officer, which he originally held in 2012. Pichler was CEO of Fiji Airways where he was instrumental in its successful turnaround. Before joining Fiji Airways, he was MD and CEO of Kuwait’s Jazeera Airways. He was also CCO and deputy CEO of Virgin Blue; he also launched V Australia, where he served as chairman.
