Pawan Arora has been sacked as the chief operating officer of Air India Express, amid protests from parent Air India COO Gustav Baldauf. Arora was sacked on the grounds that a number of things about him weren’t known at the time of his appointment. Baldauf, who selected Arora, has complained about the sacking to the ministry but it has stated it is the airlines decision. Stefan Sukumar, chief of training is also fighting for his job, with a two-member committee looking into the “process of recruitment” with orders to a report to the board within a fortnight.
