GKN Aerospace and Rolls-Royce have formalised an agreement for the manufacturing of inner core fairings for the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 and 84,000lb-thrust Trent XWB engine programs through 2026. The USD multi-million, 10-year program contract is another milestone in a long-term business relationship between GKN and Rolls-Royce that currently includes the company providing exotic metals and advanced complex structures for Trent engines. The contract will be fulfilled at the GKN Aerospace facility in Santa Ana, California, which also produces engine fairings, metallic honeycomb structures used in exhaust systems and shrouds for major commercial and military programs.
