E190 flight lands with nose gear up; no injuries reported

A Myanmar National Airlines flight which landed with its nose gear jammed in the raised position has reported that none of its 82 passengers and seven crew members onboard were hurt.

The Embraer E190-100 aircraft landed at Yangon International Airport in Mandalay, Myanmar on the morning of May 12.

A statement from Embraer said: “All passengers and crew members [aboard flight UB 103 Myanmar National Airlines were able to safely leave the aircraft.

“Embraer is offering its full cooperation to the aviation authorities in order to aid in the investigation.”

This is the second incident to take place at Myanmar in less than a week after a Bombardier Dash-8 Q400 aircraft, operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines flying from Bangladesh’s capital, Dhaka, skidded off the runway while landing in bad weather at on May 8 – injuring at least four people including a pilot.
