About 80 Air Canada maintenance employees from Winnipeg held a rally outside the St James hangar to hear Liberal MP Kevin Lamoureux promise to push the federal Conservative government to protect their livelihoods. Aveos Fleet Performance is accused off planning to move their work to El Salvador, which employees say will kill some 500 jobs in Winnipeg. Aveos provides technical services for Air Canada but has facilities in Canada and El Salvador. Aveos spokesman Michael Kuhn expressed surprised at the allegation the company is moving after having repeatedly assured the employees for four years that it’s not moving their work
