PIA plans to dry lease three widebody aircraft, invites bids

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is planning to dry lease three widebody twin-engine aircraft, as per its recently released invitation bid. The aircraft is manufactured post 2014 and has a configuration of 280 passengers. The lease period will be for two to four years with delivery due before June 2024. As per sources, PIA is also planning to acquire about 12 aircraft to expand its fleet up to 40 and reactivate its stored 777s towards the end of January 2022. The airline has asked for sealed bids on a single stage, two envelope basis from interested aircraft owners, operators, and lessors
