New Irish lessor

It has been reported that Eamonn Cronin, a former vice president of finance at AWAS, is launching a new international aircraft leasing business that will focus on Asia. On its website, Octagon Aviation Capital Ltd. Is described as “a holding company for its subsidiaries, which will hold portfolios of commercial jet aircraft and lease them under long-term leases to a diverse group of airlines throughout the world, with a focus in Asia”.

Few details have emerged regarding Octagon Aviation Capital although there are rumours it could be linked to Gecas.

Former AWAS senior executive, Doug Winter, head of Meridiana, Richard Creagh, are directors of Octagon, while Fergus Brennan, the former managing director of the Irish arm of Lufthansa Technik Airmotive, is also reported to be involved with the new lessor.
