It has been reported by Reuters that Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) is planning to sell StandardAero aviation for $1.8bn. The sale is expected to be made via an auction, which will begin later this year. With an EBITDA of $180 million, StandardAero provides engine and airframe maintenance, repair and overhaul, engine component repair, engineering services, interior completions and paint application services. DAE acquired StandardAero in 2007 from Carlyle Group, along with Landmark Aviation for $1.8bn. DAE has planned to sell the MRO in 2010 but this was abandoned when future growth prospects for the company picked up.
