Kenya Airways has reported a loss of Ksh7.8 billion (approximately $75 million) in its full year 2018 financial results.< The group's total operating costs stood at Ksh115 billion in the 12 months ending December 2018. The 2018 results are the first since the airline adopted a new financial reporting format to comply with International Accounting Standards (IAS 1, IAS 36 & IAS 37). Therefore the group does not have any comparable results. Kenya Airways recorded a total revenue of Ksh.114.18 billion, where passenger and cargo revenue contributed to Ksh.95 billon and Ksh.8.5 billion, respectively. Chairman Michael Joseph said in a statement:
