Indian airlines had long-term debts of Rs 57,274.76 crore at the end of 2008-09, the latest year for which data is available, the Government said today. The debt list was headed by Air India with a debt of Rs 34,714.82 crore, followed by Jet Airways with Rs 15,885.61 crore, Union Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel told the Lok Sabha in a written reply to a question. JetLite holds debt of Rs 1208.61 crore, Kingfisher Airlines Rs 4725 crore, Spicejet Rs 33.30 crore and IndiGo Rs 380.88 crore. Paramount Airways had reported Rs 326.54 crore against long-term obligations under capital leases.
