US ENVIRONMENTALISTS UNHAPPY WITH OBAMA’S OPPOSITION TO THE EU ETS SCHEME

US environmental groups have attacked the Obama administration’s opposition to the European Union’s emissions trading scheme (ETS). The lobbyists claims the US is reneging on its commitment to fight global warming. The administration outlined its objections to the plan to regulate airline emissions last week and added weight to China and Russia’s claim that the ETS is illegal because the EU lacks jurisdiction over foreign companies outside its borders.
