British company ZeroAvia, which in January tested a hydrogen-powered aircraft over Gloucestershire, has announced a “long-term partnership” with Birmingham Airport. The partners hope to make hydrogen-fuelled air travel “a reality” as ZeroAvia aims by 2025 to produce a “zero-emission system capable of flying 20-seat aircraft 300 nautical miles”. The deal “opens up the possibility of green air travel from Birmingham” by mid-decade, a prospect the airport’s chief finance and sustainability officer Simon Richards said is “mind-blowing”. “We are thrilled to partner with ZeroAvia on creating solutions to the main challenge of our generation – protecting the future of our planet,”
