Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings has posted a net profit of $34.4 million for the 2011 first half. This is a 48.2% reduction from the $66.4 million reported in the same period a year ago. ACMI contracted services revenue rose the most by 28.1% to $306.5 million. Overall, half-year revenue fell 0.7% and operating expenses rose 9.8% owing to higher aircraft fuel and maintenance costs. First-half operating profit was $54.1 million, less than half the 2010 first-half operating profit of $111.4 million.
