Astral Aviation has launched a new freighter route from Nairobi to Tel Aviv reducing the transit time from 24 hours to five hours. The carrier will deploy its B757F on the route focusing on perishables. Speaking at the route launch, Sanjeev Gadhia, chief executive, Astral Aviation said: “The route will considerably reduce the time for perishables that were previously being routed via other hubs such as Istanbul, Addis Ababa, and Dubai.” The airline said it plans to increase its frequency from a weekly to twice weekly service and will switch to using an 767F.
