Aviation Life

Spirit of Aviation

They say necessity is the mother of all invention, which of course holds true in many cases, but what about wonder? The desire to feel awed and amazed at the sights, sounds and experiences all around us.

Aviation Life aims always to stay true to its core aim of celebrating the spirit of aviation – through any media. In this issue, we review a new film celebrating the achievements of James Glaisher that recalls the adventures of aeronauts – perhaps the earliest aviation pioneers – as well as the new release of his biography. His words, which are conveyed in the film, celebrate that awe and wonder of flight and the sky despite the imminent dangers. It’s that very human feeling of awe and the need to explore and understand the wonders of nature that drives our species forward.

Our main Airline Economics Growth Frontiers events in October are held in Dubai and New York. In this issue, we suggest busy executives take advantage of the trip by extending your time in the city after the conferences end to spend time recharging your batteries before the next event, or indeed spending time with family.

Also this month, rugby fans are descending on Japan for the start of the World Cup. As many of our clients are heading to games ahead of our Hong Kong conference, we review some sights off the pitch.

As usual, if you have any comments, suggestions or think you have a talent or pasttime that our readers would love to hear about, please contact me victoria@aviationnews-online.com
