Volaris reports passenger traffic up over 20% y/y

Mexican low-cost airline Volaris carried 2.9 million passengers in January 2023, a 21.8% increase on January 2022 and almost the same as December 2022. Capacity was up 16% year-on-year (y/y), with demand up 23.1% and a recorded load factor of 86.2%. “January saw robust traffic growth with demand outpacing capacity and with remarkable load factors. This strong start in the year reflects the ongoing strength of demand in all of our markets,”said Enrique Beltranena, the carrier’s president and chief executive.
