The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) has asked the Transport Ministry not to approve a plan by Vietnam Airlines to establish a new airline aimed solely at businesspeople. VNJet was proposed in November last year with Vietnam Airlines stumping up 20% of the airline’s chartered capital of VND50 billion (US$2.56 million). Partners: Hanoi Import-Export Joint Stock Company and the finance investment joint stock company An Binh would supply the remaining capital. However Vietnam Airlines is concentrating its resources on the plan for VietAir based on restructuring of Vietnam Air Service under the Vietnam Airlines.
