Vietjet reports Q1 2019 results

In its first quarter 2019 results, Vietjet has reported its revenue is up by nearly 28%.

Air transport profit before tax reached VND923 billion (approximately $39.6 million), up to 25.3% year-on-year, while consolidated profit before tax reached approximately $70.8 million, an 11.3% increase.

The Vietnamese budget airline is attributing the rises to increased international routes – which brought in 55% of total revenue.

During the first period of 2019, Vietjet launched four new international and two domestic routes, bringing the airline to a total of 111 routes in its network.

Vietjet operated 33,646 flights in the same period covering its local routes, and internationally in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Cambodia, and China.

Ending the first quarter, the company has completed 23.4% of this year’s revenue plan and 26.5% of the profit plan.
