Hossein Shariatmadari, a representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has called for US and European airlines to be “taught an unforgettable lesson” for refusing to supply fuel to Iranian aircraft. Shariatmadari made the remarks in an editorial in his Kayhan daily earlier this week. In a retaliatory move, Iran now refuses to supply jet fuel to European airlines.
