United Airlines pilots are to stage a picket outside JPMorgan Chase headquarters in New York on April 14. The picket will be held while United executives present first quarter earnings and aims to highlight to the financial industry the airline’s alleged “reluctance” to agree a pay deal with its pilots. “Our pilots have conducted themselves with professionalism and expertise while waiting more than five years for management to get serious at the bargaining table,” said Garth Thompson, the head of United pilots’ section at the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), the main pilots’ union in the US.
