A Thomson Airways’ Boeing 737-800 flight from Doncaster to Paphos mistakenly landed on Paphos airport’s taxiway instead of the main landing strip. Flight BY3350, with 192 passengers and seven crew onboard, was on approach to and cleared to land on runway 29, but aligned with and landed on the parallel taxiway, which was empty at the time. The weather conditions were reportedly slightly hazy, but cloudless and with good visibility. Three staff from the Cyprus’ Air Accident Investigation Authority (AAIA) has been assigned to investigate the incident, the first of its kind at the airport.
