Southwest Airlines has stated that it plans to push back the delivery of 67 737 MAX 8 aircraft by up to six years to 2023-2025 from 2019-2022but it will advance orders for six 737-800 planes to 2017 from 2018 to replace its oldest 737s. Despite the changes, Southwest will still be the first operator of the MAX 8 aircraft, which is scheduled to be delivered in March next year.
