Southwest Airlines has taken the decision to extend its grounding period for the Boeing 737 Max jet. The airline previously removed the Max through to 1 October. Now, Southwest has revised this until 2 November. The revision will remove around 180 daily flights from our schedule out of the airline’s total schedule of more than 4,000 daily flights. Southwest has reiterated that it remains confident that, once certified by the FAA, the enhancements will support the safe operation of the Max. The timing of the Max’s return-to-service is still uncertain.
