South African Airways (SAA) has announced the appointment of Zuks Ramasia as its new acting chief executive, effective immediately. It was reported last week that Vuyani Jarana will no longer serve as CEO, although he will be available with transitional support to the board and management for the duration of his notice period – which ends in August. Ramasia, who is currently general manager for operations at the carrier, is said to be an “experienced executive with an extensive aviation background”.
