French authorities at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport on Friday delayed a Yemenia Airways flight for 24 hours due to reports of scorpions on the plane. The claim was later found to be a false alarm when authorities failed to find any scorpions. The Airbus-310 aircraft was bound for Cairo on route to Sana’a. Internet chatter has alleged that the delay was part of an extension of arbitrary measures committed several times against the Yemenia Airways since one of its aircraft crashed in June 2009 a few miles short of Comoros.
