Russian airlines carried 27.1% more passengers in January to October than in the same period last year, reported the Federal Air Transportation Agency. Passenger numbers rose to 48.7 million in the period from 38.3 million. Aeroflot led the charge with its traffic figures rising 30.5% to 9.5 million. With 5.6 million passengers, Transaero made gains of 32.2% on the year.
