Masakazu Arimori, president of Skymark Airlines, has indicated that the bankrupt carrier expects to post an operating income by July as profitability has improved after the airline halted large aircraft operations and reduced costs. Arimori suggested that Skymark may consider transfer the 10 leases it holds for A330s to potential airline partners. Skymark has grounded five A330s after filing for bankruptcy protection in January. The airline is due to take delivery of five more A330s later this year. “Earnings are recovering faster than expected,” he said. “We may be able to achieve operating profit in May. By July, definitely.”
