New Thai long haul low cost airline, NokScoot, is planning a May 2015 launch. The launch date of the carrier that intends to offer scheduled services to Japan, South Korea and China, has been delayed several times. The joint venture between Nok Air and Singapore Airlines’ long-haul low-cost subsidiary Scoot was initially planned to launch in late 2014 but this has been pushed back due to regulatory delays. Based at Don Mueang International Airport, NokScoot will operate medium to long haul flights to international destinations with a fleet of 777-200 aircraft.
