MIA handles record passengers
Malta International Airport (MIA) May traffic increased by 9.9% to a record number of 441,943 passengers in May compared to the same month last year. In May, traffic from Germany rose significantly by 32.1% as a result of Cruise and Fly operations starting in October last year. Italian traffic was also up by 15.4%. Traffic from Britain, Malta’s largest source of tourist visits, rose by 1.5%. During the first five months of the year, traffic at MIA rose 6.5%.
