It has been widely reported that Lufthansa is in talks with SAS over a possible partnership, or minority stake, while the German airline group is also rumoured to be poised to purchase a controlling stake in Brussels Airlines, which will boost Eurowings flight network. Lufthansa has denied any suggestions it is speaking with SAS about anything beyond its Star Alliance partnership, although it does have an option to extend its 45% stake in Brussels Airlines by 2018.
