Lufthansa and Fraport, which operates Frankfurt airport, have filed a complaint with a court regarding trade union GdF’s series of strikes held in February by 200 apron workers. The strikes cost the two parties tens of millions of euros in lost revenue and forced the cancellation of 1,800 flights. The suit intends to sue GdF for lost revenue although the exact amount of damages demanded was not disclosed estimates are in the range of €10 million. German air traffic controllers’ authority DFS, Air Berlin and Condor have also filed complaints.
